Guided Tours

Guided tours of the Johnson County Historic Poor Farm site are available by request and are led by docents from the Johnson County Historical Society. Tours cover information on the site’s history as well as present-day programs and partnerships, and are given between 9am and 4pm. Arrangements must be made at least two days in advance for weekday tours and a week in advance for weekend tours. Request a tour by clicking the "Tour Request Form" button and filling out your information. After completing the form, the Johnson County Historical Society will reach out to the contact information provided to schedule your tour date and time.

Self-Guided Tours

Self-guided tours of the site are welcomed. Signage on the farm’s history can be found surrounding the historic buildings, though entering buildings without a guide is prohibited.
